Established in 1965, Tomintoul Distillery is located near to the village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland and in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. The area surrounding Tomintoul Distillery is one of astounding natural beauty. This natural environment combined with the fresh mountain air of the Cairngorms, the soft, pure water from the Ballantruan spring and the tall and mighty stills of Tomintoul, all contribute to creating our exceptionally smooth and well-balanced single malt Scotch whisky. The freezing conditions in the winter mean that the Cairngorms is one of the few places outwith the Arctic where areas of tundra exist. Cold and windy with sub-zero temperatures in the winter lead to a burst of life in the summer, with wild flowers and animals flourishing in this unique landscape. Tomintoul Tundra was born in this challenging environment. It is an elegant, balanced and creamy single malt, matured entirely in specially selected American oak bourbon barrels. Aromas of toasted oak, peached pears, marzipan and white chocolate mingle with the nutty and creamy flavours of vanilla fudge, stone fruits and crème anglaise before ending in a long, warming finish of orchard fruits and sweet spices that linger on the tongue.
